Adam McCravy

Adam is a professional therapist in the Nashville area currently pursing licensure. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Union University and an Education Specialist degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Middle Tennessee State University. Before graduate school, Adam directed a non-profit organization in Williamson County. Adam also has experience working with adolescents in residential treatment for trauma and substance abuse, as well as in the non-profit space.

Adam’s approach to therapy is relational and collaborative. Guided by a conviction that every person possesses the internal resources that they need, Adam partners with clients to remove obstacles and access those resources. He is especially passionate about working with people who have experienced trauma, struggles with addiction, shame, and low self-esteem. His therapeutic style incorporates Internal Family Systems, Existential Counseling, and Interpersonal Process Therapy. He also has advanced training in the Gottman Method for working with couples.

“The decision to begin listening to your story and paying attention to your life is brave and admirable. I consider it an honor when clients choose to do that with me as their therapist. I believe that most people are capable of more than they ever dream of, and it’s an absolute joy being a partner with clients as they discover their full potential.”

When he’s not at work, Adam loves spending time with his family, playing golf, running, and following professional baseball.

Adam is currently fulfilling the Tennessee licensure requirement of post-masters supervision and is receiving supervision from Dr. Kristi Marshall, an approved supervisor by the state of Tennessee.
